("Even slight optimism dashed for UK housing", 6 January) The title and the tone of the piece suggest that you believe falling house prices to be a bad thing. How can this be when you mention that 750,000 potential buyers were locked out of the market between 2003 and 2007? Surely falling prices are a very good thing indeed?
