The following information is about Microfilm.
Microfilm Defined
1. A format; photographically reduced images of printed pages on 35mm film. This format also provides backup for periodicals with missing pages. Older issues of newspapers are often microfilmed because newsprint deteriorates so rapidly. Historical census data is also found in microfilm format.
